Recently, parts of Bangladesh have been severely affected by flooding, impacting millions of people. In this critical time, a Chinese company has stepped forward to donate relief supplies to the flood-hit people, demonstrating the deep friendship between the peoples of China and Bangladesh.

On August 25, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) launched a relief distribution program in the Feni, Noakhali, and Cumilla districts. This mission aims to provide emergency assistance to those affected people and help them overcome their difficulties. According to reports, 600 affected families have benefited from this donation, which includes essential supplies such as food, drinking water, and other basic necessities, delivered directly to the hands of the affected individuals.

According to official Bangladeshi statistics, a total of 4,938,159 people from 587 unions across 77 upazilas in Feni, Cumilla, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshmipur, and Cox’s Bazar have been affected by the floods. In response, 3,527 shelter centers have been established, providing refuge to 284,888 individuals and 21,695 cattle..

“CCECC, as a long-established Chinese company in the Bangladeshi market, has always paid close attention to local livelihoods and actively fulfills its social responsibilities. In the face of this disaster, CCECC will continue to uphold the spirit of ‘solidarity in adversity’ and stand with the people of Bangladesh to overcome these challenges, further strengthening the bond of friendship between China and Bangladesh,” said Ke Changliang, a representative of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.

The donation program has been widely praised by both the Bangladeshi government and the local people. One affected resident in the Cumilla district expressed deep gratitude, saying, “The Chinese company extended a helping hand during our most difficult time, and we will always remember this kindness.”

The friendship between China and Bangladesh is long-standing and enduring.
